c-u3G DUAL SIM and d-u3G SIM install
SIM interface implementation differences between c-uGSM and d-u3G shields (micro)
c-uGSM shield it is dual SIM capable, but single SIM active. Slide in dual SIM holder populate this shield, as standard hardware implementation. Use it with 2G SIMs, standard size(mini).d-u3G shield SIM interface use hindge type single SIM holder. Use it with 3G SIM/USIM, standard size(mini).
Both modules supports 1.8 and 3.3V SIMs.
c-uGSM PRIMARY SIM install procedure
Primary SIM, it is located in the proximity of the c-uGSM shield PCB. Place the SIM with contacts oriented to the PCB (see how in the bellow picture). The primary SIM it is enabled by default for usage on c-uGSM. Switching between SIMs it is supported by software functions (Quectel M95 AT+QDSIM AT command and C & Python reference functions).
After SIMs initial insertion in proper location, gently slide it in place. Action result in next picture.
c-uGSM SECONDARY SIM install procedure
Secondary SIM, it is located in the top of the primary SIM location. Place the SIM with contacts oriented to the PCB (see how in the bellow picture). After SIMs initial insertion in proper location, gently slide it in place. Action result in next picture.
DO NOT FORGET:
- SIM INSTALL / REMOVAL procedures MUST be made with shield un-powered!
- Primary SIM is enabled by default. After SECONDARY SIM INSTALL (or after reversal install procedure), you may need to run the switching SIM support functions (AT+QDSIM). The AT+QDSIM value it is saved to the NVM (the same SIM setting will be applied in the modem boot procedure). Proper SIM initialization require to make a PowerOff & PowerOn cycle after AT+QDSIM.
